Happy Birthday, Princess Mia!
December 21st is a special day at Sheila Broderick Photography as we celebrate our beloved Miss Mia’s second birthday! Our sweet little princess has been bringing joy, laughter, and endless cuddles to our lives since the day she arrived.
Mia isn’t just our family dog; she’s the heart and soul of our studio. Whether she’s curling up in her favorite sunny spot by the window or gently greeting clients with her wagging tail, Mia has a way of making everyone feel welcome.
To celebrate her big day, we treated her to a mini photoshoot (of course!) complete with her favorite toys and a pumpkin peanut butter cake. Her charm shines just as brightly in front of the camera as it does in real life.
Happy Birthday, Miss Mia! Here’s to many more years of tail wags, belly rubs, and paw-some memories.

Save a Pittie: Colorado’s Shelters Are Full of Love Waiting to Be Adopted
As a photographer, I often capture the beauty of the world through my lens, but today, I want to shine that spotlight on a subject close to my heart: the lovable, misunderstood Pitbulls waiting for homes in Colorado shelters.
Right now, shelters and rescues across Colorado are filled with hundreds of Pitbulls, affectionately known as “bullies.” These dogs are as diverse as they are loving, each with their own unique personality, but they share one thing in common: a desire for a forever family.
Many of these dogs end up in shelters not because of their behavior but due to misconceptions about the breed or the challenges of breed-specific housing restrictions. Yet, anyone who has spent time with a Pittie knows they’re loyal, intelligent, and make wonderful companions.
Where to Start
If you’re in Colorado and thinking about adopting, here are a few organizations to explore:
• MaxFund Animal Adoption Center
• Denver Animal Shelter
• Underdogs Rescue
• OutPaws Animal Rescue
• Denver Dumb Friends League
• Colorado Bullies & More Rescue
• Obe’s Angels Rescue
• Colorado Pit Bull Rescue
• Mile High Canine Rescue
These groups work tirelessly to match potential adopters with their perfect canine companion.
How You Can Help
Even if you’re not in a position to adopt, you can still make a difference:
1. Foster: Provide a temporary home and help a dog transition out of a shelter environment.
2. Donate: Every dollar helps with food, medical care, and shelter improvements.
3. Volunteer: Walk a dog, help with events, or spread the word.
4. Share on Social Media: A simple share could connect a dog with their future family.
Adopting a Pitbull isn’t just about saving a life—it’s about opening your heart to a companion who will love you unconditionally. Next time you’re ready to add a new member to your family, remember the countless bullies waiting to show you just how amazing they are.
